NFL Week 15

By | December 16, 2017

After bit of an unplanned absence, I’m back. Apologies to all the Football Jerseys For Dogs Fans out there who have been following the season along. But we’re back and well and truly through the season now. Superbowl is in the sights now as we gear up for the last 3 games of the season.

NFL Buffalo Bills v Indianapolis Colts In The Snow

I was catching up with things and did you see the game of the Buffalo Bills against the Indianapolis Colts? Have you ever played a game like that? It was crazy – like they were playing in a blizzard. Absolutely crazy to watch. The final score 13 – 7 to the Bills with a Touchdown to seal the deal.

The First Game Is Over…

And the Denver Broncos have beaten the Indianapolis Colts 25 – 13 thanks to an absolutely supurb game by Brock Osweiler. Osweiler came off the bench after quarterback Trevor Siemian suffered a left shoulder strain and was carted off the field. He didn’t return to the field. The Broncos were trailing 7-0 when Osweiler came on and Osweiler ended up generating not 1, not 2 but three touchdowns. Unbelievable!!

Season Injuries.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, Ryan Shazier, suffered a spinal injury in their win against the Cincinnati Bengals on December 4th. Shazier had spinal stabilization surgery and is now undergoing rehab. In a statement from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, they said:

Ryan Shazier remains hospitalized at UPMC recovering from the spinal stabilization surgery performed last week by UPMC neurosurgeons and Steelers team physicians Drs David Okonkwo and Joseph Maroon. Mr Shazier has started physical rehabilitation as part of his recovery process.

He celebrated the Steelers’ second consecutive AFC North crown on when they beat the Bengals in a nail biting 39-38 win last week. He did it from his hospital bed via Facetime. Not quite the same thing, but it was good to be included in the team celebrations.

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery Ryan.

Avoiding Migraines?

Alex Collins, the running back for the Ravens, has suffered with migraines since high-school. It’s been a real struggle for him. As he describes it, the problem rears its ugly head, ehem, in a manner of speaking, when he squints at the glare of the sun.

The whole action of squinting to avoid the glare and trying to focus his eyes at the same time, it what sets the migraines on. Since wearing the shaded visor on his helmet he hasn’t suffered a migraine largely due to the fact that he is able to relax his face and his eyes which allows him to focus more clearly without the strain. He was cleared to use the visor in the preseason and the benefit of using it was on full display when he rushed through the Steelers defense as he made a season high 120-yard rushing on 18 carries in a 38-39 loss.
