NFL Week 7

By | October 23, 2017

Who’d have believed that Kansas City Chiefs would lose 2 in a row but that’s exactly what has happened this week when the Oakland Raiders beat them by a single point!!! Oakland Raiders – 31; Kansas City Chiefs – 30. Wow, talk about a close game. I guess on the back of last week’s loss, they weren’t able to pull themselves together for this one!!

The Steelers on the other hand, came onto the field with that spectacular win last week to play Cincinnati Bengals and of course turned that into another victory beating the Bengals 29 – 14 this week!

Injuries That End A Season For Some

Carson Palmer, the Arizona Cardinals veteran quarterback is out of the game for the foreseeable future. Palmer suffered a broken arm in their game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. It looks like he’ll be missing at least eight weeks. Ouch! Just to add insult to injury, the Cardinals lost their game VERY convincingly against the Rams finishing the game without scoring. The final result 00 (Cardinals) – 33 (Rams).

Unofficially at 10,363, Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns, has had what is possibly the longest consecutive snaps streak in NFL history but that streak may possibly be over for him after he injured his triceps against the Titans this week. He sat out the remainder of the game and had to watch his team lose 12-9 from the sideline.

The bottom line is that he is to have an MRI done on his arm to see what the damage is and if it is a tricep tear, he’s going to be out for the rest of the season after he has surgery to repair the damage. Not looking good, so let’s hope that it’s nothing more than a muscle strain on the day.

A few minor injuries ended the game on the night for some, so we’ll keep an eye out for those next week.

A Few NFL Week 7 Highlights

The 49ers ended up in a hole that they just couldn’t recover from and it was sealed when Jason Witten took a one-handed 18-yard touchdown grab. Cowboys star runner had the game of his life with 219 total yards and three touchdowns. They didn’t come away unscathed though with their star kicker, Dan Bailey, out with a groin injury. Hopefully, that doesn’t linger else they’re going to need help pretty soon if it does.

Ahhh, go the Seahawks. After a bit of a nail-biting first half being 7-3 down, they came back knocking the wheels right off the New York Giants. After a quick touchdown in the third quarter taking it to 10-7, they took the lead and then the final acrobatic touchdown catch by Paul Richardson which admittedly didn’t look to be a sure thing, the replay didn’t overturn it resulting in a final 24-7 win against the Giants.

Then, of course, there are the Jaguars who beat the Colts 27-00. Yay, go the Jaguars, my ‘other team’. Blake Bortels, from the Jaguars, had a good game whereas Jocoby Brissett, from the Colts, had a frustrating one.

New England Patriots have walked away with this one.

Division Top Standings At End Of Week 7

So the Chiefs’ winning streak is over for the second week running. Chiefs, Steelers, and Rams are all sitting at the top of their respective divisions with 5 wins and 2 losses so far.
