NFL Week 9

By | November 13, 2017

No real thrashings this week but the Philadelphia Eagles did have the highest scoring game against the Denver Broncos. The final score, Eagles 51, Broncos 23.

The Dolphins looked like they might actually get a score on the board when they were in scoring range after a couple of good passes by Matt Moore. But, the drive was stalled and a 50-yard field goal was missed by Cody Parkey.

There was a nasty and scary situation late in the second quarter when Ravens Flacco slid for the first down but received a nasty knock by Kiki Alonso, leaving Flacco with a concussion. Both teams got into a scuffle after the incident while Flacco headed straight to the medical tent.

Jimmy Smith scored the final defensive touchdown to seal the Dolphins’ fate … well, that was sealed well before the final score.

Injuries That End A Season For Some

Bryan Bulaga, the OT for Green Bay Packers left the field on Monday night with what is touted as a “significant injury to his right knee”. Does her return to the field in the next game remains to be seen but Justin McCray replaced Bulaga and will probably be his replacement for the season if the injury is serious enough!

Update: it turns out that Bulaga tore his ACL in his right knee and so is out.

Jaquiski Tartt of the San Francisco 49ers suffered a broken arm in their game on Monday.

Defensive End for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, William Gholston, is out after he sustained a neck injury on Sunday. He was carried off the field on a stretcher with his facemask removed from his helmet as he was taken off the field.

A few minor injuries ended the game on the night for some, so we’ll keep an eye out for those next week.

A Few NFL Week 9 Highlights

We’ve been talking about how well the Chiefs have been doing … well, until they lost 2 in a row but up until then they were undefeated, but on the other end of the scale, the Cleveland Browns are yet to WIN a game. Eight straight losses. That’s gotta be soul destroying.

If there’s any consolation in it, the San Francisco 49ers are suffering the same demise – eight straight losses for them too.
